His mother, Marion, teases her son about his dreams to build a large robot ant with a
drawing of her son riding on the ant's back. Then it comes true.
Jack Mason is a secret agent working for the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA). He also reports to DARPA the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency in the USA, always on the lookout for technology they can acquire for the protection of the US, referred to as Homeland Security.
In particular, the US has been developing robotic soldiers, alongside their super soldiers (human) enhancement programmes.
The CIA works with targeted officers from Scotland Yard, who are prepared to sell information via the backdoor, in return for large cash lump sums, in brown envelopes. No questions asked.
In addition to buying information, Jack is prone to taking the odd bribe himself, turning a blind eye occasionally. Making him a sometimes double agent who is not to be trusted.
The President of the US is aware of the leaks and procurement fraud tactics. Keeping a watchful eye open to ensure that Jack does not stray too far from American interests.
