4 - JOHNNY GETS
DETENTION IN COMPUTER STUDIES
INT. CLASSROOM - MONDAY MORNING
Jimmy slouches in his seat, half-heartedly taking notes as Miss Davies lectures at the front. She stands tall, her gray pixie-cut neat, and her blue one-piece dress immaculate. Despite her poise, a few classmates snicker behind their books.
JIMMY (thinking) She deserves more respect... Cancer isn’t something to joke about.
Jimmy glances over as one student whispers to another, accompanied by a knowing wink. He sighs, shifting his attention back to the board.
INT. SCHOOL HALLWAY - LUNCHTIME
The bell rings, and Jimmy rushes down the hall, excitement building. He knows what’s next: computer studies.
INT. COMPUTER STUDIES CLASS - AFTERNOON
Mr Jarvis is at the front, adjusting his glasses as the students settle in. On the desks are robotic arms connected to small
Arduino boards.
MR. JARVIS
Right, class. Today’s task is simple - pick up a block and move it from one position to another.
Jimmy leans in, already thinking ahead. Once the task is completed and marked, he reprograms his arm with a grin.
The robotic arm begins to "dance," spinning, swinging, and even tossing the block into the air before taking a bow. The final landing doesn’t go smoothly, but Jimmy shrugs, satisfied.
INT. COMPUTER STUDIES CLASS - LATER
Johnny Baxter glares at Jimmy’s robotic arm. A few classmates nearly clap, but Jimmy waves them down, erasing the program quickly before Mr. Jarvis notices.
JOHNNY (under his breath)
King Geek and his loyal Geeklets…
He sneers, but louder than intended.
JOHNNY
Let’s hear it for KG and the GLs!
The class gasps as Mr. Jarvis spins around, nearly losing his glasses.
MR. JARVIS
Who said that?
The room falls silent. Johnny looks around as if searching for the culprit. Mr. Jarvis isn’t fooled.
MR. JARVIS
Alright, Johnson. Detention.
JOHNNY
But Sir —
MR. JARVIS
Unless, of course, you’d like to name the real culprit?
Johnny stays silent. Mr. Jarvis smirks slightly, giving Johnny a small nod of acknowledgment.
Johnny scowls at Jimmy and the others.
Johnny pulls the corners of his mouth down and his nose up to look like a pig.
MR. JARVIS
Right-ho then, pack away.
The bell rings in the corridor, and the students rush to tidy up and leave.
