JOHNNY BREAKS INTO JIMMY'S SHED AND IS TAZED

EXT. HERSTMONCEUX STREETS - NIGHT

The wind howls like a hungry wolf through the quaint, narrow streets of Herstmonceux. Loose shutters rattle, and dry leaves dance in wild spirals beneath the puddles of streetlight. Two shadowy figures, JOHNNY BAXTER (13, wiry, with a mischievous glint in his eye) and JAMIE FINN (12, a bit clumsy, easily scared), dart along Gardener Street. They're dressed in all black, balaclavas pulled low, gloves concealing their hands. They're almost invisible. Only the faint, almost magical infrared security sensors outside suburban homes occasionally flicker, revealing their presence.

Johnny clutches a small crowbar in his gloved hand. Jamie holds a pair of wire cutters and a small torch. They are ready. Or so they think.

As they leave the last streetlights behind, heading towards West End, the countryside stretches out, dark and silent. The only sounds are the distant rustle of a restless fox and the sudden, sharp bark of a dog. Jamie flinches, stopping dead in his tracks, his breath catching in his throat.

JOHNNY
(Hissing, impatient)
Keep moving!

Jamie sucks in a shaky breath and nods, the fear in his eyes quickly replaced by a thin veil of false bravery.

JOHNNY (CONT'D)
(Whispering excitedly)
This is it.

They circle behind Jimmy Watson’s house, keeping to the deepest shadows.

JAMIE
(Frowning, hushed)
How do you know for sure?

JOHNNY
(Voice tight with urgency)
I followed Jimmy and Julia here one afternoon. I'm certain this is the Watson place. Julia’s somewhere else tonight.

Jamie hesitates, shifting his weight uneasily.

JAMIE
You do realize we’re breaking the law? Just standing here with that crowbar is enough to get us nicked.

Johnny shrugs, a cocky swagger even in the dark.

JOHNNY
If we see a copper, we ditch the gear and run. Separate directions. No one can prove anything.

Jamie smirks, a gullible grin. Johnny isn't much brighter, just bolder.

JAMIE
You really thought this through, eh?

The duo clambers over the rear fence, landing with soft thuds on the damp earth. In the gloom, they spot the shed—a looming silhouette against the inky night sky.

JOHNNY
(Whispering, excitement bubbling up)
That’s gotta be it! I heard Henderson and Rippengall talking about some kind of workshop back here!

What Johnny doesn't know is that the moment they scaled the fence, they triggered a silent alarm. Deep inside the shed, a creature stirs.

Anthony. The Dinobot.

A soft whirring sound fills the air. Power surges through the robotic insectoid as it comes out of sleep mode, its unseen sensors locking onto the intruders. Outside, the ordinary garden security lights flicker out, then go completely dark, deactivated deliberately. Johnny and Jamie grin, a shared moment of triumph.

JOHNNY
(Confidence surging)
See? No security at all.

JAMIE
(Chuckles)
Piece of cake, mate.

Then, the calm shatters.

A low, mechanical growl rumbles from the impenetrable darkness of the shed—deep, guttural, utterly unnatural. Before Johnny can even react, a blast of electricity surges through his body. His limbs jerk violently, uncontrollably, and he collapses to the ground in a heap.

Jamie gasps, a scream of pure panic trapped in his throat. He spins to run, but his feet tangle, and he trips over his own clumsy feet. A sickening CRACK echoes in the still night as his leg breaks.

The shed doors WHOOSH open with a robotic hiss. Anthony, the Dinobot, stands silhouetted against the faint light of the distant town, fully activated, towering with a quiet, powerful menace. Its six legs, gleaming like polished armor, stand ready.

EXT. WATSON HOUSE - HOURS LATER

The scene is calm now, but the air still carries a hint of unease. JOHNNY is sitting on the ground, zip-tied, waiting for the police. His reckless act has finally caught up with him. When questioned, he offers little resistance—he knows he's in deep trouble. The charge: breaking and entering. A path towards borstal, or worse.

INT. POLICE INTERVIEW ROOM - NIGHT

The harsh, fluorescent lights overhead hum and flicker, casting a cold glow on the bare walls of the interview room at Deer Paddock Police Station. A large, two-way mirror dominates one wall. JOHNNY BAXTER (13) sits at a steel table, his hands clasped tightly, his knee bouncing a nervous rhythm. The air smells faintly of old coffee and disinfectant.

Across from him, DETECTIVE HARRIET WINTER (30s, sharp, composed) watches, her piercing blue eyes fixed on Johnny. Beside her, INSPECTOR NIGEL COLTMAN (50s, seasoned, deliberate) leans forward, his fingers interlocked. A small voice recorder sits between them, its red light blinking ominously.

Winter presses the record button.

WINTER
Interview under caution. Suspect: Johnny Baxter. Present officers: Detective Harriet Winter and Inspector Nigel Coltman. Time: 21:37. This conversation is being recorded. Do you understand, Johnny?

Johnny swallows hard, nodding stiffly.

COLTMAN
(His voice heavy with authority)
You’re looking at detention, son. Young Offenders’ Institution. You know what that means?

Johnny can barely breathe.

JOHNNY
Y-Yeah.

Winter folds her arms, her expression unyielding.

WINTER
Then explain yourself. You were caught inside private property. Crowbar in hand. Balaclava. Gloves. You didn’t just wander in, did you?

Johnny hesitates, his heart thudding in his ears. He can feel Coltman’s gaze tightening on him.

COLTMAN
Speak, Baxter.

Johnny lets out a shaky sigh.

JOHNNY
I—It was a stupid idea. I wasn’t gonna take anything.

Winter scoffs, leaning in closer.

WINTER
Oh, really? Because breaking into Jimmy Watson’s shed in the middle of the night screams innocence, doesn’t it?

Johnny squirms in his seat.

JOHNNY
I—I just wanted to mess with him. That’s all.

Coltman tilts his head, his voice calm but firm.

COLTMAN
Mess with him? Mess with what? His project? His work?

Johnny hesitates, a flicker of guilt crossing his face.

JOHNNY
Yes.

Winter exchanges a quick, meaningful glance with Coltman before leaning back in her chair.

WINTER
You realize the consequences, don’t you? This isn’t schoolyard nonsense. It’s breaking and entering. It’s criminal intent. If Jimmy had pressed charges, you’d already be sitting in a cell awaiting sentencing.

Johnny’s throat tightens, the words like a heavy weight.

COLTMAN
(His tone growing colder)
Tell us everything. Start from the beginning.

Johnny takes a deep, shaky breath, his voice barely a whisper at first.

JOHNNY
I followed Jimmy home one day. I knew he had something special in that shed, something big. And I—I was jealous. I didn’t want him to succeed. So I planned to wreck it.

Winter doesn't blink, her gaze unwavering.

WINTER
And Jamie Moonlight? What’s his role?

Johnny shakes his head, his voice almost inaudible.

JOHNNY
Just followed my lead. He didn’t even ask why.

Coltman nods slowly, tapping a pen against the metal table, the sound echoing in the silent room.

COLTMAN
So it was your idea. That means when the sentencing comes up, you take full responsibility?

Johnny shivers, but he nods.

JOHNNY
Yeah.

Winter sighs, slowly closing the case file in front of her.

WINTER
Right. Here’s how this goes. You’re being charged with breaking and entering. You’ll be released on bail, but this isn’t over. We’ll be seeing you in court.

Johnny feels the full weight of her words crash down on him.

INT. POLICE STATION LOBBY - NIGHT

Outside the interview room, JOHNNY'S PARENTS wait anxiously. His MOTHER'S eyes are red-rimmed, his FATHER'S jaw clenched with frustration and disappointment. As Johnny steps out, his mother rushes forward.

JOHNNY'S MOTHER
(Whispering, her voice trembling)
Oh, Johnny—how could you?

His father offers no words, just a deep sigh before giving a stiff, apologetic nod to the officers.

JOHNNY'S FATHER
We’re sorry for this. He’s let us down completely.

Winter exchanges a glance with Coltman before addressing Johnny’s parents.

WINTER
He’s on bail. But let’s be clear—if he steps one foot out of line again, detention is the least of his worries.

Johnny lowers his head, knowing there's no escape from what he's done. As they walk out of the station doors, the cold night air hits him, sharper and colder than ever before. For the first time, Johnny truly understands the real cost of his jealousy.

EXT. A STREET IN HERSTMONCEUX, DAY

Later the next day, JIMMY (12), defiance in his eyes, confronts Johnny. Despite everything, Jimmy sees past the bravado to the lost kid underneath.

JIMMY
(Frustration giving way to sadness)
I… I couldn't stand it!

Johnny, now sobbing, completely breaks down.

JOHNNY
(Tears streaming down his face)
You’re clever, you’re gifted, and I—I just wanted to ruin it for you! It wasn’t fair. You always have something special, and I have—nothing!

Jimmy stares at him, his initial anger dissolving into a profound understanding.

JIMMY
That’s no excuse to destroy things. If you ever want to be good at something, you have to work for it. Sabotage doesn’t make you smarter—it makes you worse.

Johnny swallows hard, his gaze fixed on the ground.

JOHNNY
(Muttering)
I’ll stop. I swear.

Jimmy makes him promise never to pull another stunt like this. Later, when Johnny tearfully apologizes to the Detective Harriet Winter and Inspector Nigel Coltman, Jimmy, surprisingly, refuses to testify. The charges against Johnny are dropped.

EXT. WATSON HOUSE - A FEW DAYS LATER

Johnny is different. He's quieter, more thoughtful. He becomes one of Jimmy’s biggest supporters, never causing trouble again. Jamie, on the other hand, receives the harshest lecture of his life from his parents, and a long recovery.

TIM and MARION (Jimmy’s parents) stand on their porch, watching Jimmy and a now subdued Johnny talking near the shed. Tim wraps an arm around Marion.

MARION
(Softly, proudly)
He didn't just outsmart thieves, Tim. He changed a life.

TIM
(Nodding, a warm smile)
That's our boy.

In another scene, Johnny’s mum and dad arrive at the Watson house, tears in their eyes, thanking Jimmy, Tim, and Marion. They know their son has been saved from a dark path.
