Twin motors and speed controllers for the Magic Dinobot. One side completed of Anthony's chain set completed, bar the driving motor and chains. Jimmy is using 42 teeth per sprocket for the prototype. The bearings shown are for alignment purposes only. Leg cranks, or ends fit into spherical bearings in to give movement to the Dinobot's legs - all synchronized, to describe one of the walking cycle - or revolution of the left leg bank.

INT. GARDEN WORKSHOP - DAY

Sunlight pours into the workshop, illuminating a fascinating sight. The bare skeleton of JIMMY'S HEXAPOD DINOBOT stands proudly, supported by two scavenged pushbike frames acting as temporary stands. JIMMY (12, energetic) is meticulously checking connections.

JIMMY
(To himself, tapping a frame)
Not as sturdy as I hoped, but... it'll do for now! No time for fancy jigs!

He tightens a G-clamp, bracing the frames with joining timbers. The structure shivers slightly, then holds firm. It's a testament to his ingenuity and a touch of youthful optimism.

JIMMY (CONT'D)
(Patting a leg)
There we go, Anthony. Good boy.

All the robot's legs are attached, but they hang loosely, not yet ready to move in unison.

JIMMY (CONT'D)
(Muttering)
The legs need their rhythm... like a symphony of gears!

He thinks of his mum's car engine, a complex ballet of sixteen valves dancing to the tune of her foot on the accelerator. It’s a magic that most people never notice, but Jimmy understands the intricate harmony. He knows his Dinobot, Anthony, will be just as complex, and just as overlooked once it works.

He calculates. The robot needs to be strong enough to move its own weight and carry a rider – specifically, a human rider! He imagines himself atop Anthony, using voice commands or reins like a mechanical steed. No bareback rides like Ant-Man on a flying ant for him!

He scribbles in his notebook: 800 watts with good gearing should do it. Two 400-watt motors will drive chains to each of the robot’s three chainwheels per side, allowing for different steering. Chains are super efficient – 95%! Gears are tricky and expensive for a prototype.

He smiles, thinking about his Lego and Meccano days. He just knows this will work. And now, with welding, his world has opened up! No more flimsy nuts and bolts. Welds are strong and permanent, though he's learned the hard way that if you weld in the wrong spot, it means more cutting!

He inspects the motors he's ordered. They're a bit heavy, not the fancy brushless DC units he'd ideally want, but they're within his budget. These are sturdy, brushed motors with reduction gearboxes, just like the ones used to convert pedal bikes into electric bikes.

He proudly points to the mounting brackets he custom-welded into place, then bolts the motors on. Next, he attaches the electronic speed controllers, tucking them carefully away from the oily chains and sprockets.

JIMMY
(Rubbing his hands together)
Alright, time for a quick static test! Will the motors and controllers work?

Suddenly, his mobile phone jangles. He checks the message. It's from JULIA: "Can I come round and help?"

JIMMY (CONT'D)
(Smiling to himself as he types)
Oh, please! But it might be boring – wiring up the beast's primary drives! Could be dangerous too!

He waits a moment for her reply.

JIMMY (CONT'D)
(Reading the screen, grinning)
"See you in a few minutes!"

He pats the Dinobot's frame.

JIMMY (CONT'D)
Good boy, Anthony. Almost ready for your grand debut!

He heads into the kitchen to grab a Solar Cola for Julia and himself.

INT. KITCHEN - CONTINUOUS

The front doorbell rings. MARION (40s, kind) answers it.

MARION
(Warmly)
Hello, Julia, dear! Jimmy's in the kitchen. Help yourself to a soda pop, or would you like a nice cup of tea?

JULIA (O.S.)
(Sweetly)
Thank you, Mrs. Watson! How are you and Mr. Watson? A Solar Cola would be lovely, if that's okay!

Julia enters the kitchen. Jimmy is already there, holding out a chilled can of her favorite cola, a huge smile on his face.

JIMMY
(Excitedly)
Julia! You're here!

JULIA
(Grinning)
Wouldn't miss it for the world!

They both scamper through the house and out to the new wooden workshop.

INT. GARDEN WORKSHOP - CONTINUOUS

Julia steps inside and gasps. Her eyes widen as she takes in the enormous, skeletal form of the Dinobot, its metal legs glinting in the workshop light. She scans the imposing frame from left to right, utterly speechless for once.

JIMMY
(Chuckling silently, beaming with pride)
Pretty neat, huh?

He playfully reaches out and gently closes Julia's dropped jaw for her. It's a first!

JULIA
(Finally finding her voice, taking a sip of her Solar Cola)
Incredible, Jimmy! Absolutely incredible!

She slowly regains her composure, her eyes still fixed on Anthony, a sense of wonder mixed with awe on her face.
