Not entirely realising the full implications, because nobody can predict the future, Jimmy downloads and installs an Artificial Intelligence (AI) algorithm based on a modified version of Chat GPT, Google's Bard, which soon became 'Gemini Advanced,' alongside a Global Positioning System (GPS). He installs a mobile phone service SIM card into the smartphone, with an unlimited download allowance, costing just £16 a month.
"Okay Anthony, just clip that chip in here." Jimmy struggled with the tiny plastic circuit board, dropping it onto the vinyl floor.
"Really, these couldn't be any more fiddly." Finally coaxing the delicate SIM card into its slot.
Another enhancement is a wildlife camera, that has the ability to capture video during the day and at night using infra-red vision capability, undetectable to humans. Jimmy could see on his laptop, what the infra red vision showed.
"Not bad. Not brilliant, but not too bad." He switched to daylight vision. "Now that is good." The robotic eyes could outperform human eyes several times over.
The consequence of these enhancements, coupled with Jimmy's programming, makes the system self-learning, and ultimately, self-aware. The potential horror of HAL, Cyberdyne Systems and I-Robot are invoked, should Anthony Maximus Antonious decide that humans are expendable. All these scenarios, Jimmy rehearsed many times as he was writing his code. Making sure, insofar as is humanly possible, that he'd built in sufficient safeguards.

Jimmy installs Gemini Advanced AI, aiming to make his robot companion more human like, and self-learning to some extent. He struggled with what programming language he'd need for that to work, and how well such a feature might be able to fool other humans that "Anthony" was an intelligent robot, or even more fun to interact with, since Jimmy had designed Anthony and knew his wonderful creation was just computers and programs.
To create a more human-like and self-learning AI for Jimmy's Dinobot,
he reasoned he's need a powerful and flexible language like Python as ideal.
He knew that Python's versatility, readability, and extensive libraries make it well-suited for complex AI tasks.
OpenAI's GPT-3: A powerful language model that can generate human-quality text, making it suitable for creating realistic conversations and responses.
Scikit-learn: A machine learning library for tasks like classification, regression, and clustering. Jimmy was all alone in this world. His mum and dad knew very little of his deep understanding of the robotics world. He imagined Tim and Marion speaking to Anthony. They'd probably think their son was responding to their questions, using radio communications.
Wouldn't that surprise them! Jimmy couldn't wait. It was like playing the ultimate prank.
Then came Emotional Intelligence, a subject he could well do to learn more about as he came to terms with real life himself. Jimmy implemented algorithms that allowed Anthony to recognize and respond to human emotions. To enable this feature, Anthony needed to analyze facial expressions, tone of voice, and language patterns.
Hours
more programming ensued. Jimmy frequently nodded off at his desk. When
this happened, he took a well deserved break to charge his batteries. Social Skills: Teach Anthony basic social skills, such as politeness, empathy, and humor. This could involve programming rules and guidelines for interacting with humans in a socially appropriate manner. Self-Learning: Enable Anthony to learn from its interactions with humans and adapt its behavior over time. This could involve using reinforcement learning or other machine learning techniques. But
how well
could such a system fool people?
The context in which "Anthony" interacts with humans and the expectations of those humans would also play a role. If humans are aware that they are interacting with an AI, they may be more likely to identify its limitations. And of course, Anthony was a hexapod, presenting difficulties in acceptance; suspension of disbelief.
As Jimmy struggled to formulate a decent compromise, he ticked off the challenging decisions to create an AI that can perfectly mimic human behavior, one by one. Until, one day he was satisfied. Jimmy gambled that Gemini Advanced AI could make "Anthony" a more engaging and realistic companion. And the program was advancing far quicker than he could code. Indeed, new and improved version of the AI software were being released almost monthly. The level of sophistication was staggering.
