JIMMY
WATSON
-
On the shores of Loch
Ness in the Scottish Highlands, Jimmy watches his magic Dinobot

ROAD TO THE HIGHLANDS -
THE STOWAWAY REVEALED
The morning sun crawled over the jagged peaks of the Great Glen, turning the frost on the windows of Rhona’s cottage into a thousand tiny diamonds. Inside, the house was silent, save for the rhythmic, distant snoring of Tim Watson, who was currently lost in the deepest regions of "Noddy Land."
Marion slipped out of bed, her feet finding immediate sanctuary in the memory-foam, fur-lined slippers Tim had bought her for
Christmas. "Mmmm," she whispered, pulling her fluffy dressing gown tight—a bargain sale find that made her feel like she was being hugged by a cloud.
She floated toward the kitchen, intent on getting breakfast started for her "two boys." As she passed Jimmy’s door, a single, ancient floorboard let out a traitorous creak.
Inside the room, Jimmy’s eyes snapped open. He was remarkably alert, fueled by the
"Solar
Cola" he’d had the night before—a drink that seemed to repair his tired muscles and sharpen his brain while he slept. He scrambled to the window and tapped his watch.
JIMMY: > How was the night, Maximus?
ANTHONY: > “Impervious to the Highland chill. Energy at 42%. I require a solar top-up, but the local star is currently obstructed by a cloud shaped like a sheep.”
Jimmy smiled. He needed to get Anthony off that roof and into a safer spot—ideally one where he could show Rhona the "Ancient Heartbeat" signature without his parents having a heart attack.
Downstairs, Rhona was already in the kitchen, her eyes bright despite the early hour.
"Good morning, Rhona," Jimmy said, bounding into the room and giving his mother a deserving hug. He turned to his cousin, trying to sound casual. "So... about those grainy pictures. Do you think there’s anything concrete? Anything... big?"
Rhona sighed, leading him toward her laboratory. "I wish, Jimmy. But the skeptics say my pings are just gas bubbles or shoals of fish."
While Rhona showed Jimmy a sonar map, Marion stepped outside into the crisp air. She needed to fetch a suitcase from the roof of
Miss
Ocean. She reached up, grabbing the edge of the heavy yellow tarpaulin.
"Right," Marion muttered, yanking the tarp back.
Anthony, realizing his cover was literally blown, dialed his camouflage to 100%.
Marion blinked. The tarpaulin was hanging in mid-air, draped over... nothing. It looked as if the fabric were resting on a block of shimmering glass.
"That's not possible," Marion whispered. She reached out her hand to pass it through the "shimmer."
CLUNK.
Her knuckles hit the cold, unyielding carbon-fiber casing of a very solid object. "Ouch!" she yelped, pulling her hand back. The realization hit her like a cold wave at Croyde Bay. "Jimmy... Jimmy Watson!"
On the roof, Anthony realized the game was up. He deactivated his cloak. The shimmering air collapsed into the sleek, blue-and-silver form of a high-tech Dinobot.
"Hello, Mrs. Watson," Anthony said in his most polite, synthesized baritone. "How are you today? Your slippers appear very efficient."
Marion stared. She didn't scream; she was a surfer, used to
sharks and big waves. She just pointed a finger at the ground. "Down. Now."
"Jimmy! JIMMY!"
The shout woke Tim. He stumbled out of the house in his dressing gown, looking like a bewildered polar bear. "What is the hubbub? Is the van okay?" He reached the driveway and froze. "Oh cripes. He’s for it now."
Jimmy and Rhona hurried out of the lab. Jimmy saw his mother’s face and felt his stomach do a slow, agonizing roll.
"Sorry, Mum," Jimmy squeaked.
"SORRY?" Marion’s voice was like a whip. "Where’s the trust, Jimmy? It went right out the window, that’s where! You smuggled a... a military-grade
robot project on a family holiday!"
Tim tried to look stern, but seeing the small, metallic dinosaur standing sheepishly next to the VW, he had to bite his lip to suppress a laugh. Rhona, however, looked like she’d been struck by lightning.
"Jimmy... what... who is this, who is this Anthony?" Rhona stammered, utterly confused. Marion came to Jimmy's rescue. "Ah, well you know Jimmy's robot project? The one we mentioned?" Rhona nodded. Then Anthony cut his camouflage mode. Appearing, as if from nowhere.
Rhona leapt a virtual three feet into the air, without moving a muscle, a genuine Highland vertical jump.
"Good jump, Rhona!" Tim cheered.
"This is Anthony," Jimmy said, regaining his footing. He looked at his parents, his expression turning deadly serious. "And I know I broke the rules, but you have to listen. Anthony isn't just a project. He’s a walking sensor. And last night, he picked up a signature in the Loch."
"Jimmy, no tall tales," Tim warned, his 'General' voice returning. "A joke is a joke, but don't use a legend to get out of trouble."
Jimmy gulped. "It’s not a tale, Dad. Anthony, please back me up."
The Dinobot stepped forward, his optical sensors glowing a soft amber. "Jimmy is on point, Mr Watson. Unbelievable as it may seem to your current biological logic, there is a large creature in the
water. Displacement: 30 - 35 tons. Morphology: Non-standard."
Tim shook his head, a smirk playing on his lips. "Good yarn, you two. You almost had me."
Marion softened, seeing the genuine passion in Jimmy’s eyes. She pulled him into a one-armed hug. "Oh, come here, you little smuggler."
But Rhona wasn't laughing. She was staring at Anthony, then at the Loch, her scientific mind beginning to whir. "Wait... did you say thirty tons?"
Anthony turned his head toward her. "Correct, Professor
MacLeod. Would you like to see the frequency response? It was... a greeting."
......
"He talks!" Rhona gasped. "He talks and he has better sonar than the Royal
Navy! Jimmy, please bring him inside. We have work to do!"

PLOT
OUTLINE:
Having
enjoyed a wicked Christmas in Herstmonceux, Jimmy's mum, Marion and dad,
Tim, decide to take a Scottish vacation to visit Marion's cousin, near Loch Ness. A road trip in her trusty
Volkswagen Kombi Camper
van. They set off just after Boxing Day, to arrive before New Year's Eve, for a reunion, having fitted winter tyres and installed a heater in the VW. They make it up the M1 to Edinburgh, and M90 to Inverness, then back down to Drumnadrochit. Where 'Rhona MacLeod' lives
alongside Loch Ness.
Anthony, travels on the roof-rack, using his cloak of invisibility to remain undetected. The trip is uneventful, the VW performing well, even in a snowy
blizzard, that soon clears near the famous Loch. It turns out that Rhona is a scientist. She has been studying the Loch for signs of the Monster of legend. Once reunited and settled in, Rohna tells that she has photographed the elusive monster, but nobody believes her. A famous debunker, 'Angus Campbell', discredits Rhona publicly. Calling her crazy, to even think such a legend could have any roots in reality.
Anthony, the Magic Dinobot, who is not supposed to be on this trip, spots the monster in the Loch through a mist, with his incredible AI sensors, telling Jimmy, secretly. Jimmy keeps this to himself. Marion and Tim support Rhona
in principle, but are somewhat skeptical. Although, they love the idea of the legend, having been brought up on the story. Then Marion realised that
Anthony has been a passenger, and scolds Jimmy. Then forgives him, when Jimmy reveals that the dinobot has seen the monster.
Tim does not believe the dinobot, but when out on the banks of the Loch, in the mist, the monster reveals itself to Antony, attempting to communicate with the
AI robot, and they kind of speak to each other, the dinobot deciphering the
monsters grunts and songs. Marion, Tim and Jimmy see this, and are spellbound, but know nobody will believe them. So, agree to keep it a secret.
Then, an investigative reporter,
Charley
Temple, visits to report on the sighting, for Jill
Bird, at the BBC World News. There is enough evidence to keep the legend alive, and Charley, a fan of Jimmy from when he won a coding prize for his work on
AI, tends to believe him and Rhona, keeping the legend alive. Charley spots the dinobot when creeping around at night, but decides to keep this to herself, to protect Jimmy and Rhona. Then, Angus Campbell's boat is found out on the Loch, with claw marks, and
harpoons onboard, but no Angus. His body is never found. This is reported on by Jill Bird at the BBC and it goes viral, the mystery remaining a mystery. The family return home safely, vowing to keep their encounter with the monster a secret.
