JIMMY
WATSON
-
On the shores of Loch
Ness in the Scottish Highlands, Jimmy watches his magic Dinobot
communicate with the legendary creature, using advanced AI.

THE LOGIC OF LEGENDS -
WHISPERING BAY, IN THE MIST OF THE SHORE
The moon was a pale, smudged coin behind a thick curtain of Highland fog as the two-vehicle convoy crept along the northern shore of Loch Ness. The headlights of
Rhona’s rugged Jeep 4x4 cut through the gloom, followed closely by the glowing LED eyes of Miss Ocean, the blue-and-dark-blue
VW
Kombi.
"Are you absolutely certain about this, Rhona?" Tim’s voice crackled over the short-wave radio from the driver's seat of the van. "It’s freezing, visibility is down to five yards, and we’re chasing a signature that—if I’m being honest—could just be a very large, very confused
salmon."
Jimmy, sitting in the passenger seat of the Jeep next to Rhona, sighed. He looked at Anthony, who was currently folded into a compact "travel mode" in the footwell.
"Dad, you could actually help us prove that Nessie doesn't exist," Jimmy suggested into the radio. "We could be in two teams. The Believers versus the Non-Believers."
In the back of the Jeep,
Marion suppressed a giggle. "Two teams? I like the sound of that. And let me guess—Tim is the Captain of the Skeptics?"
"If that’s the role he wants," Jimmy replied, a playful glint in his eye.
"How about we treat it as a scientific challenge?" Rhona interjected, her hands steady on the wheel as she navigated a hairpin turn. "No believers, no disbelievers—just curious people in search of the truth. That’s the MacLeod way."
"That's okay by me," Tim grumbled, though his tone suggested he was still eighty percent convinced they were on a wild goose chase.
They finally pulled into the Bay of Whispers. It was a desolate, beautiful stretch of shoreline where the water was as still as black glass and the mist seemed to breathe against the pebbles. Rhona messaged Marion: This is it. The
vehicles parked side-by-side, facing the water. The adults huddled around Rhona’s bank of monitors, while
Anthony extended his six
carbon-fiber legs and climbed onto a flat, lichen-covered rock at the water's edge. In hexapod mode, he looked less like a dinosaur and more like a high-tech spider from another world.
For an hour, nothing happened. The only sound was the lap of the water and the occasional clink of Jimmy’s
Solar Cola can.
"Anthony," Jimmy whispered, shivering slightly in the damp air. "Try to communicate. Use the same protocol as last night. Send a... a 'hello' message."
The Dinobot’s optical sensors turned a deep, resonant violet.
Click. Whir. Ping.
Anthony began sending out rhythmic bursts of sound—low-frequency pulses that traveled through the
water like ripples in a pond. They weren't just noises; they were invitations coded in the language of the deep.
"Sending 'hello' messages now, Jimmy," Anthony’s synthesized voice murmured.
Suddenly, the radar screen in the VW Kombi bloomed with a massive, pulsing green shape. It was moving fast, rising from the seven-hundred-foot trench on the far side of the Loch.
"Something's coming," Tim said, his voice losing its grumble. He tapped the screen. "Huge displacement. Must be... must be a technical glitch. A thermal pocket, maybe?"
But then, the mist began to move. It didn't just drift; it swirled in a perfect, rhythmic spiral that mirrored the clicking sounds coming from Anthony. Out in the bay, a long, elegant neck broke the surface, as silent as a ghost.
"Holy dinosaurs," Marion breathed, her hand going to her mouth. "It looks like a... like a Plesiosaur. But that’s impossible."
Anthony’s head tilted. His sensors were locked onto the creature, which was now only twenty yards away, its large, dark eyes reflecting the faint LED glow from the van.
ANTHONY: "Translation: The lifeform is responding. It says it is the last of a dying breed. It has been lonely for a very long time."
"The last?" Rhona’s eyes filled with tears. "But how? How has it survived for a millennium without a mate?"
"Asexually, I suppose," Rhona whispered, her scientific mind racing. "Parthenogenesis. It’s a self-sustaining cycle. That’s what our research has been missing. It’s not a population... it’s a lineage of one."
The swirls in the water grew closer, the creature’s breath huffing softly in the cold
air. It was real. It was right there.
Tim was speechless. He stared at the creature, then at the radar, then back at the creature. He reached out and tapped the monitor again, his brow furrowed in desperate denial.
"It’s... it’s clearly a projection," Tim uttered, though his voice lacked any conviction. "Faulty equipment. Some kind of atmospheric refraction combined with Jimmy’s robot hacking the displays."
He looked over at Anthony suspiciously. Rhona, Marion, and Jimmy just looked at him—the lone naysayer standing in the presence of a miracle.
"Dad," Jimmy said softly, pointing to the water. "The equipment isn't making the mist swirl. She is."

PLOT
OUTLINE:
Having
enjoyed a wicked Christmas in Herstmonceux, Jimmy's mum, Marion and dad,
Tim, decide to take a Scottish vacation to visit Marion's cousin, near Loch Ness. A road trip in her trusty
Volkswagen Kombi Camper
van. They set off just after Boxing Day, to arrive before New Year's Eve, for a reunion, having fitted winter tyres and installed a heater in the VW. They make it up the M1 to Edinburgh, and M90 to Inverness, then back down to Drumnadrochit. Where 'Rhona MacLeod' lives
alongside Loch Ness.
Anthony, travels on the roof-rack, using his cloak of invisibility to remain undetected. The trip is uneventful, the VW performing well, even in a snowy
blizzard, that soon clears near the famous Loch. It turns out that Rhona is a scientist. She has been studying the Loch for signs of the Monster of legend. Once reunited and settled in, Rohna tells that she has photographed the elusive monster, but nobody believes her. A famous debunker, 'Angus Campbell', discredits Rhona publicly. Calling her crazy, to even think such a legend could have any roots in reality.
Anthony, the Magic Dinobot, who is not supposed to be on this trip, spots the monster in the Loch through a mist, with his incredible AI sensors, telling Jimmy, secretly. Jimmy keeps this to himself. Marion and Tim support Rhona
in principle, but are somewhat skeptical. Although, they love the idea of the legend, having been brought up on the story. Then Marion realised that
Anthony has been a passenger, and scolds Jimmy. Then forgives him, when Jimmy reveals that the dinobot has seen the monster.
Tim does not believe the dinobot, but when out on the banks of the Loch, in the mist, the monster reveals itself to Antony, attempting to communicate with the
AI robot, and they kind of speak to each other, the dinobot deciphering the
monsters grunts and songs. Marion, Tim and Jimmy see this, and are spellbound, but know nobody will believe them. So, agree to keep it a secret.
Then, an investigative reporter,
Charley
Temple, visits to report on the sighting, for Jill
Bird, at the BBC World News. There is enough evidence to keep the legend alive, and Charley, a fan of Jimmy from when he won a coding prize for his work on
AI, tends to believe him and Rhona, keeping the legend alive. Charley spots the dinobot when creeping around at night, but decides to keep this to herself, to protect Jimmy and Rhona. Then, Angus Campbell's boat is found out on the Loch, with claw marks, and
harpoons onboard, but no Angus. His body is never found. This is reported on by Jill Bird at the BBC and it goes viral, the mystery remaining a mystery. The family return home safely, vowing to keep their encounter with the monster a secret.
