JIMMY
WATSON
-
On the shores of Loch
Ness in the Scottish Highlands, Jimmy watches his magic Dinobot
communicate with the legendary creature, using advanced AI.

ROAD TO THE HIGHLANDS -
THE DEBUNKER'S VENOM
The village of Drumnadrochit was huddled against the Highland chill, its stone cottages glowing like amber lanterns in the twilight.
Jimmy followed
Rhona and his parents toward a sign that swung creakily in the wind, depicting a stylized
monster being reined in by a silver chain: The Kelpie’s Bridle.
The heavy oak door required a collective effort to open. Tim leaned his weight into it, and as it swung wide, a wave of heat, peat smoke, and the sharp scent of malt vinegar rolled out to meet them. The floorboards offered a rhythmic, high-pitched creak—a specific "stranger alert" that caused several heads to turn.
The pub looked as though it had been built from the bones of ancient ships. Low, soot-stained beams of shipwreck timber crisscrossed the ceiling, and the fireplace was large enough to roast a small dragon. The walls were a chaotic museum of Nessie-lore: blurry black-and-white photos, plaster casts of footprints that looked suspiciously like wellington boots, and one glass case containing a "monster tooth" that was almost certainly a sharpened bit of driftwood.
At the center of the room, standing on a hearth-rug that had seen better centuries, was a man in a loud, checked tweed jacket. He held a glass of dark whisky like a scepter.
"I'm telling ye, Hamish!" the man roared, his voice cutting through the low murmur of the locals. "It’s all fairy stories for the fleecing of the tourists! It’s theatrical cobwebbery!"
He paused, catching sight of the newcomers. His eyes narrowed, focusing on Rhona. A sneer curled his lip.
"And speak of the devil! Here we have the 'Professor' from up the hill," he announced to the room. "Wasting good university grants on sonar pings and shadows. It’s a disgrace to the Highlands, MacLeod! You’re chasing bubbles while the rest of us are trying to run honest businesses."
Jimmy felt his face flush with heat that had nothing to do with the fireplace. He took an instant, stinging dislike to the man. He looked like the kind of villain who would pull off a rubber mask at the end of a mystery, shouting about "meddling kids."
"That's Angus
Campbell," Rhona whispered, her jaw set tight. "He runs a 'skeptic' blog. He thinks wonder is a waste of money."
Undeterred, Rhona led her Sussex family toward the bar. Behind the polished mahogany stood a literal mountain of a man.
Hamish "The Hammer" MacGregor had a beard like a gorse bush and arms the size of Jimmy’s torso. He had earned his nickname by winning every hammer-throw and caber-toss trophy from Inverness to Skye, and he looked like he could silence a riot just by clearing his throat.
THUD.
Hamish slammed a pewter tankard onto the bar, the sound echoing like a muffled cannon blast. Angus jumped, nearly spilling his drink.
"Ah, welcome Rhona," Hamish boomed, his voice a deep, resonant rumble that made the glasses clink. He ignored Angus entirely, his eyes twinkling as they landed on Jimmy. "And who is this with ye? A new assistant for the Professor?"
"My cousins from the south, Hamish, the Watsons," Rhona said, giving a polite, tight-lipped nod to Angus. "It's nice to see you too, Angus. Still shouting at the furniture, I see."
"Now, now, let's keep this friendly," Hamish interjected, though his gaze warned Angus to stay quiet. "What will you have, Rhona? The usual?"
"Yes please, Hamish. What would you like, Jimmy? I’m afraid the Highland selection might be a bit... traditional."
Jimmy stood on his tiptoes to see over the bar. He thought of his favorite drink—the one with the golden label that felt like summer in a bottle. "I don't suppose you’d have any 'Solar Cola' in your armoury, Mr. MacGregor?"
Hamish stopped polishing a glass, a look of genuine surprise crossing his rugged face. "Now, that is strange. I only got a crate of that in last week after some hikers from the
Pacific Crest trail came through asking for it. Said it was the only thing that kept their energy up."
Jimmy beamed. "I'll try one of those, please!"
"I'll have the same, Hamish," Marion added, glancing at Tim. "Jimmy loves the stuff, and I’ve developed a bit of a taste for it myself."
As Hamish popped the tops off the cans, the distinct, citrusy-honey aroma of
Solar Cola drifted through the pub.
"It’s a fine brew," Hamish noted, sliding the drinks across the bar. "I read about that chap—Storm, I think his name was—who fed this stuff to a wounded
whale in the Pacific to give it the strength to swim. If it’s good enough for a
whale, it’s good enough for
me."
Rhona smiled, a bit of the tension leaving her shoulders. She’d heard of the Pacific rescue too; the ingredients of Solar Cola were a closely guarded secret, much like the secrets of the Loch.
Angus Campbell hovered nearby, nursing his whisky and his pride. He looked at the blue-and-dark-blue-clad family from
Sussex with a mixture of suspicion and boredom. "Road-trippers, eh? Well, welcome to the land of thistles and heather. Just don't let the Professor here convince you that the logs in the
water have flippers. You'll go home looking like right
gowks."
Jimmy took a long, refreshing swig of his Solar Cola. He looked at Angus, then at his parents, and finally at Rhona. He thought of the shimmer on the roof rack back at the cottage.
"We like stories about monsters, Mr. Campbell," Jimmy said clearly, his voice steady. "But we like the truth even more. And sometimes, the truth is a lot bigger than people think."
Hamish "The Hammer" let out a short, bark-like laugh and winked at Jimmy. "Well said, lad. Well said."

PLOT
OUTLINE:
Having
enjoyed a wicked Christmas in Herstmonceux, Jimmy's mum, Marion and dad,
Tim, decide to take a Scottish vacation to visit Marion's cousin, near Loch Ness. A road trip in her trusty
Volkswagen Kombi Camper
van. They set off just after Boxing Day, to arrive before New Year's Eve, for a reunion, having fitted winter tyres and installed a heater in the VW. They make it up the M1 to Edinburgh, and M90 to Inverness, then back down to Drumnadrochit. Where 'Rhona MacLeod' lives
alongside Loch Ness.
Anthony, travels on the roof-rack, using his cloak of invisibility to remain undetected. The trip is uneventful, the VW performing well, even in a snowy
blizzard, that soon clears near the famous Loch. It turns out that Rhona is a scientist. She has been studying the Loch for signs of the Monster of legend. Once reunited and settled in, Rohna tells that she has photographed the elusive monster, but nobody believes her. A famous debunker, 'Angus Campbell', discredits Rhona publicly. Calling her crazy, to even think such a legend could have any roots in reality.
Anthony, the Magic Dinobot, who is not supposed to be on this trip, spots the monster in the Loch through a mist, with his incredible AI sensors, telling Jimmy, secretly. Jimmy keeps this to himself. Marion and Tim support Rhona
in principle, but are somewhat skeptical. Although, they love the idea of the legend, having been brought up on the story. Then Marion realised that
Anthony has been a passenger, and scolds Jimmy. Then forgives him, when Jimmy reveals that the dinobot has seen the monster.
Tim does not believe the dinobot, but when out on the banks of the Loch, in the mist, the monster reveals itself to Antony, attempting to communicate with the
AI robot, and they kind of speak to each other, the dinobot deciphering the
monsters grunts and songs. Marion, Tim and Jimmy see this, and are spellbound, but know nobody will believe them. So, agree to keep it a secret.
Then, an investigative reporter,
Charley
Temple, visits to report on the sighting, for Jill
Bird, at the BBC World News. There is enough evidence to keep the legend alive, and Charley, a fan of Jimmy from when he won a coding prize for his work on
AI, tends to believe him and Rhona, keeping the legend alive. Charley spots the dinobot when creeping around at night, but decides to keep this to herself, to protect Jimmy and Rhona. Then, Angus Campbell's boat is found out on the Loch, with claw marks, and
harpoons onboard, but no Angus. His body is never found. This is reported on by Jill Bird at the BBC and it goes viral, the mystery remaining a mystery. The family return home safely, vowing to keep their encounter with the monster a secret.
